Program Description:
Global Health Internship in Cambodia (short-term)
Teach English and create awareness around preventative health practices.

Cambodia teaching community
Program Focus
Live in the Cambodian town of Siem Reap, contributing to our core English education project and lead preventative health care workshops and ongoing research. Contribute to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal, UN SDG #3, Global Health and Well-being, by creating awareness around good hygiene practices. You will also be working on our core project of improving access to English language education in Siem Reap, contributing directly to #4 Quality Education.
Gain experience in global public health, teaching English abroad, and sustainable development projects by joining our global health internship in Cambodia.

Work in the community of Siem Reap with other volunteers and interns and get involved in the day to day activities of running these programs, such as conducting public awareness workshops around how daily hygiene practices such as handwashing and toothbrushing, can prevent disease. You could also take part in research into access to water in Siem Reap. Our interns can research healthcare topics such as medical treatment, the prevention of dengue fever, and how the community's health is affected by access to water.

Our programs have been created and are led by the needs of the local community and also help contribute towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Lead English lessons to improve education in the community and schools. By working closely with our local partners, you will also be contributing toward UN SDG #17, Partnerships for the Goals.

Cambodia temple
Location
Experience the Kingdom of Cambodia with its captivating cultural history and iconic temples and monuments. Siem Reap is a hive of activity, where medieval architecture abuts lively markets, diverse restaurants and riverside hangouts. Further out from the city you can enjoy the stunning natural landscapes, filled with lush greenery, glistening rice paddies and waving sugar palms. Local non-governmental organisations in Cambodia have made massive strides during the past two decades in uplifting their communities. In 2017, we were contacted by a number of these organisations who focus on sustainable development to ask if we would be able to provide the kind of support they need to make their objectives a reality. By joining GVI as an intern Cambodia you will take an active role in improving the educational and community initiatives in Siem Reap.
